Resurrection Sunday 2011

Our speaker during Family Bible Hour was Mr Steve Modrzejewski.  His message was based on 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 --
 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
The Gospel is the good news of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection --- for our sins, according to the scriptures.  We are to stand confidently on the Word of God  that there is but one way to a relationship with God the Father, and that is through Jesus Christ alone. Mr Modrzejewski's message, in full and in context, is available on DVD. Please see Romy.

2 Corinithians 5:14-20

Our speaker during Family Bible Hour was Mr Steve Modrzejewski.  He is pictured with his son, Sam.
Mr Modrzejewski's message was based on 2 Corinthians 5:14-20:

 14For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
 15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
 16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
 18And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
 19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
 20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
 21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Quick recap:
The above passage tells us that a relationship with God gives us 3 things --
  • A new perspective on living: We are no longer to live for ourselves, but motivated with the love, and for the love, of Christ
  • A new perspective on relating: We are to look at people differently, not from a wordly perspective, but the way the Lord sees them
  • A new perspective on our focus: God gave us the ministry of reconciliation. We are to beseech people on Christ's behalf to be reconciled to God. He loves the sinner, but not the sin. We are to love people in spite of themselves

Romans 8: 28,29

Our speaker during Family Bible Hour was Mr Steve Modrzejewski.  His message was based on Romans 8:28, 29 ---
 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Mr Modrzejewski continued with his series of messages that he hopes will help us to weave the principles found in God's Word into the very fabric of our lives. In the verses preceding the above verses, we read that Creation, Believers, and the Holy Spirit groan because of life's suffering and pain. Believers may not always understand the reason for the tears, and questions may remain unanswered.  God's Word tells us that He still cares and helps us; and that the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf.  We have God's assurance that all things work together for good; and that  He is conforming us to the image of His Son that we might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Mr Modrzejewski's message, in full and in context, is available on DVD. Please see Romy.

Today, we welcome our  friends from MI, Don and Pat Bollman. They are pictured with their daughter, Julie and their granddaughter, Haley

2 Chronicles 7

Our speaker during Family Bible Hour was Mr Steve Modrzejewski. His message was based on 2 Chronicles 7:13-14 --

If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Mr Modrzejewski desire is that we, as God's people, would weave the Word of God and the ways of God into the fabric of our lives.  The result would be a people who truly love God and are wholly pleasing to Him.  Here is a quick summary of what the above passage reveals:

  • It's a calling from God that is only possible through the way of salvation that is in Christ alone
  • We must  clothe ourselves in humility because God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble
  • We are to be a people devoted to prayer
  • Seeking God's face is a priority. Living in an attitude of repentance is a must
