Our speaker during Family Bible Hour was Mr Steve Modrzejewski. He spoke about Cornelius. His text was Acts 10:
There was a certain man in Cesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,
A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people, and prayed to God alway...
Here is a short summary about what we can learn from this chapter:
  • God's plan has God's time
  • Religious devotion does not mean eternal salvation
  • A sincere seeker of God will be found
  • There is only ONE way to God (Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life -- John 14:6)
  • A servant of God deflects glory to God (see verse 26)
  • A true seeker of God brings along those he loves (see verses 24, & 27)

Today's speaker was Mr Kap Thang, President of South East Asia Bible College. His text was based on Jesus' words found in John 14: 1-4

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there ye may be also.
And whither I go ye know and the way ye know.

Kap reminds us to be faithful in the opportunities that God gives to each of us: particularly, in the use and care of our bodies; through our home/family lives; at our places of employment; and as responsible citizens/residents of this great country.

Below is the personalized quilt sewn by Cindy B for Camille. Many PMBC members partook in the design of this very lovely quilt through hand-written/ hand-drawn quilt panels that were then put together expertly by Cindy. Click on the pictures to enlarge. See if you can find YOUR quilt panel.
Thank You Everyone, from the Escobars. This quilt now covers Camille's bed in her dormroom at SIU. Please pray daily for our college students -- Camille E. and Abby C.

Our speaker for the Family Bible Hour was Mr Pat Hughes, missionary to Poland. He and his wife, Cindy, also did a presentation on their work in Poland during our evening Bible Study & Supper. His morning message was based on Hebrews 8

...We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens...But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises...
Summary: We have better promises based on a better covenant through Jesus our High Priest, who lives forever, and thus, can save forever. Do not let ritual replace the reality of the work of Jesus Christ

Our speaker during Family Bible Hour was Mr Don Mullins. He reminds us, through God's Word, not to be a stumbling block to our fellow Believers in Christ Jesus. A couple of passages of note --
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:13
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever Amen. Hebrews 13:20,21

Mark, with Don Mullins

Mr Don Mullins was our speaker during Family Bible Hour. Welcome, Don! His text was Psalm 91: 1-4

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most
High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my
fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the
fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover thee with his feather, and under
his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and
buckler.

Our Special Guest during Evening Bible Study was Mr. George Bristow. George has spent over 22 years working in Turkey --- a country of 70 million people, but with only 4,000 Christians. Let's remember the country of Turkey and the Bristow Family in our prayers.

A hearty Welcome to our visitors from Iowa:
Krista, Timmy(8), Josh (6), and Marissa(4).
